ASP Tag-Along: Explore the American Southwest with ASP Fellows Doug Bennett and Laura Lockhart Bennett!
Ready to trade Wi-Fi for wide open skies?
Join the American Society of Photographers for an epic ASP Tag-Along, September 20 to 25, 2025 — led by award-winning photographers and ASP Fellows Doug and Laura Bennett.
This immersive remote camping experience will take you across the rugged beauty of the American Southwest, with stops in:
• Little Finland, Gold Butte National Monument, NV
• White Pocket, AZ
• A breathtaking rim site outside Grand Canyon National Park (drone-friendly)
• A surprise Mystery Location you’ll never forget
• The top of the Moki Dugway overlooking Monument Valley
You'll even recreate the famous Forrest Gump photo in Monument Valley.
This is a true tag-along: you bring your own high-clearance 4x4 vehicle, camping gear, food, and essentials. All-terrain tires are required — standard tires won’t cut it. Participants must also bring personal toilet bags (such as Reliance Double Doodie), though a privacy tent will be provided for group use. Limited battery charging and Starlink Wi-Fi will be available.
Join for the full adventure or just part of it. White Pocket is the most rugged portion (deep sand), so some may choose to hop on before or after that leg.
Space is limited to just 7 vehicles. Some are already spoken for.
To reserve your spot, email Doug at

by September 10.
Include:
• Whether you're joining for the full trip or a portion
• Your vehicle details
• Your food and battery charging plans
• If you're able to help others with charging gear
This journey started as a private trip and has been generously opened to ASP members. It’s the kind of adventure that creates unforgettable images and lifelong memories.
